TYIS was established in 1998 in Koto Ward of Tokyo, near Toyo-cho Station on the Tokyo Metro Line and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) through 2021. This accreditation helps to ensure a smooth transfer for students to other international schools. Also, there are other English-based child cares in the YMCA building, including a kindergarten and a pre-school. As a non-profit organization, the YMCA offers high-quality education.
